Tom O’Brien – Producer, Writer, Director, Actor
Along with being a writer, actor, and director, Tom is a partner in Beacon Films. His first film, Fairhaven premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, went on to win the audience award at The Independent Film Festival of Boston, and was selected as the closing night film at The Provincetown Film Festival in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Fairhaven won Best Feature at The New Hampshire Film Festival. The film was sold to a distributor and is currently available on VOD on Amazon, Itunes and Hulu. It received a theatrical distribution in January 2013 and received a rave review in The New York Times. Stephen Holden of the Times said, “There isn’t a dishonest moment in, Fairhaven, Tom O’Brien’s piercing wistful tale of three long time buddies…beautifully acted, directed and edited slice of New England life”. Tom is also a produced and published playwright, and his acting credits include appearances at venues such as Lincoln Center, Ensemble Studio Theater, and the Naked Angels Theater, to name a few. Tom has also acted in several films, includingFairhaven, The Next Karate Kid, and Blue in the Face.
Dennis O’Neill – Executive Producer
Dennis is a serial business entrepreneur with a passion for film. His business talents, coupled with his passion for film, make him an integral component of the production team. Dennis is the co-founder of Beacon Films, the Production company behind Manhattan Romance, along with their first film, Fairhaven. He is the owner and CEO of Beacon Consulting Group in Boston and New York. Dennis grew up in Medford where his love of the arts started with acting roles in Krazy Camp and the lead in Anything Goes. Dennis is an active member of The Irish Arts Center in New York and an entrepreneur in the field of real estate development and the arts. He now lives in Reading, Massachusetts with his wife Laura and three lovely children Jackie, Kyra and Rory.
Mike Harrop – Producer
Mike Harrop is an independent, New York-based producer. Recently, he served as Executive Producer on Edward Burns’ The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, which premiered at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival, and David Greer’s Burning Blue, which will be released in 2013. Past producing credits include Newlyweds and Nice Guy Johnny, both by Edward Burns.
Scott Miller – Director of Photography
Scott is an experienced, New York-based cinematographer. Scott began his career working as a gaffer, collaborating with a number of talented cinematographers on several critically acclaimed projects, including Boys Don’t Cry with Jim Denault, Raising Victor Vargas with Tim Orr, and Tooba with Darius Khondjii. Scott was also the cinematographer on Michael Almereyda’s Tonight at Noon, starring Ethan Hawke, Rutger Hauer and Lauren Ambrose, as well as on Cory McAbee’s Stingray Sam. He also recently finished a documentary on the famous fashion designer, Halston, and shot Sol Tryon’s Kick The Can.
Nick Houy – Editor
Nick Houy was the editor on Fairhaven. He is a New York City-based film editor who has collaborated on such films as Solitary Man, Tokyo!, and last year’s acclaimed Warrior. He is currently editing alongside the directors of American Splendor, honing their newest film Imogene, a comedy starring Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening. In addition, Nick is directing and editing the feature-length documentary, Big Brutus.
